In Malaysia, minimum wage refers to lowest gross wage per month and it does not apply to apprentices and domestic servants.
The exception to the foregoing is Section 10 of the Employment Act 1955, which provides for the requirement of an employment contract to be in writing where it is for a fixed term or for a specific piece of work that lasts for a specific period exceeding a month.
