In February, Ecuador signed a deal for 2 million doses which was approved for emergency use, with the first 1 million doses arrived in early April.
The chairman of the Government's Vaccine Taskforce, Clive Dix, said the results were "spectacular", adding: "The efficacy shown against the emerging variants is also extremely encouraging.
In early February, Brazil said it intends to buy an additional 30 million doses on top of existing 100 million doses.
