The plaintiff issued a letter of demand dated Jan 13 against the defendant for the latter to retract his defamatory statement, delete the Facebook posts and to apologise publicly within 24 hours.
In a Facebook post, Lokman confirmed being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
The plaintiff further claimed that the defamatory statements implied that he was a spiritual opportunist, had failed to be a credible leader or set a good example for the community, and tarnished the good image of the Syariah Judiciary Department.
