In the 1950s, Moab was a sleepy uranium mining town.
It's pretty much below the historical sights up on the bluff and is a good entry for walks and bike rides along the river, either direction.
No large fires or bonfires outside the ring.
It was a lovely experience complete with beautiful scenery and even some hail as we moved up the mountain! Highly recommend :- Be sure to make reservations well in advance! Tourists frequent swimming holes along a federal Bureau of Land Management trail east of Moab.
My husband and I questioned wether we should walk around or not.
Our son treated us to a 2-hour horseback riding adventure when we went to visit him in Denver.
