Vaccines generally have a shelf life of about 3 years, so many manufacturers were extraordinarily cautious when they only gave their COVID-19 vaccines a shelf life of about 6 months.

In some instances, vaccination centre staff ring up nearby businesses or GP clinics to ask if the staff on duty that day can come in as soon as possible to get vaccinated.
